Barcelona: A breath of fresh air...

After Milan, Barcelona was our (my friends and I) next destination. For me, it was love at first sight. I loved everything about the city: it was fresh, clean, welcoming...a breath of fresh air after Paris and Milan, if you know what I mean.
I felt at home...oh yes home, I could live there forever if given the chance.

The only problem was we dint have enough time to spend there. We had a couple of days and no hour to waste. So immediately we got to our apartment, I changed to something more comfortable and we hit the streets and parks.

The next day we walked around some more, visited the Convent Agusti:

And spent some time on the beach.

Sum it up to say, it was amazing.

Milano!

I took a short break from Paris. I decided to visit a couple of cities with a few friends. Milan was our first destination. I don't know what exactly I was expecting from the city but it was definitely not what I got.
But looking on the bright side, the weather was beautiful and I finally had a healthy dose of shorts.

Zara denim shirt and lace shorts; Newlook sandals, LV bag; and Asos sunglasses.

I also had good company.

With Mariama and Bubu.

With Terence.

We walked famous streets like Montenapoleone which is the most fashionable shopping street in Milan, and visited Duomo.

We also had our McDonalds moment.

Finally, the last day in Milan and I was happy Barcelona was next.

Amsterdam: Queen's Day

Koninginnedag, also known as Queen's day, is basically the day the dutch celebrate their queen's birthday. It's a big deal, and it is when the dutch let their hair down and loose. The sober colors are ditched for orange...and it's orange madness everywhere!

I was even tempted to wear orange as well, but opted for my mickey mouse top...have I ever told you guys I love mickey? ah, that will be another post.

There were parties on every street with DJs playing house music (I guess), it was so much fun. But I fear I may never see the color orange the way I used to anymore.

And that sums up my visit. All things considered, I had a blast in Amsterdam, and would very much love to go back.

Amsterdam: My Red Coat...

By now, you guys already know I love my red coat...yep, that one. I've worn it so many, many times on my MDS.

I'm pretty sure I could wear it every day of the year, but that wasn't the plan when I left Paris. You see, after checking the weather reports of Amsterdam for the week, I was confident I wouldn't be needing thick outer-wears. All I had to do was wear one out of unrelenting cold Paris.
However, I should have known better than to rely on weather reports. It was a little more chilly than expected on the first three days and I was stuck with my red coat. That dint stop me from roaming the city and all its corners though.

Finally, the weather gave way to some warmth, and I could even have some yummy ice-cream.

And it only got better afterwards.

Amsterdam: Drops of Prints...

The fun started the very first minute we got to the city. We switched our travel clothes for something more appropriate immediately after we got to our apartment, then we hit the street.

What I'm wearing: Zara dress, coat and shoes; and Stella McCartney purse.

However, what we considered appropriate dint exactly blend in with the Amsterdammers, everyone was dressed in the sober colors of black, grey and brown. Let's just say we got a lot of pretty side glances.

It was an amazing evening!

Amsterdam: Scenery and All...

So I'm back in Paris, and while it's good to be back, I wish I had a couple more days in Amsterdam. The city is beyond beautiful, and it is welcoming...yep welcoming, spend more than a month in Paris and you would appreciate the warm embrace of a city like Amsterdam...still got love for you though Paris.
Like I promised, I'll be sharing some of this with you guys. Starting with few random pictures I took of the city.

We (my friends and I) made sure we walked as many streets as possible, without getting lost of course.

Whatever happens at Mellow Yellow stays at Mellow Yellow...haha.

There were so many shops with cute souvenirs.

We even did the typical touristic thing, we went on a boat tour. And while I dint particularly listen to the captain's tales, the view was spectacular.

I saw this ship, which was owned by some pirates some centuries ago (I should have listened), how cool is that?
And of course, there was a chinese restaurant floating on river Amstel.

That will be it for today. Time to get some sleep, a busy parisian day awaits me tomorrow. Have a good night people...xx

Just Another Post

Oh what a day! After hours of standing, and moving, and getting things done, I finally get to sit and breathe. Like I said I would yesterday, I worked in a showroom, Rue Du Mail, today. However, unlike I was hoping, no stories to tell. It was all work, no model fainted, no designer had a "diva-moment", and no agent exploded.
But here are a couple of pictures from my escapades these past few days:

A picture with Scott Schuman of The Sartorialist. And here is a picture with his woman, Garance Dore:

I'm a huge fan of this couple...you can tell from my silly big smile.

And this is a picture with the sweet Tamu McPherson of All The Pretty Birds. And finally:

Feb 16, 2012

it's black, it's white

Anytime I wear my wide-legs, I feel like skinnies are over-rated. Don't get me wrong, I love skinnies but wide-legs are amazing. It took me a while to try them, wasn't sure if they were perfect for me, but now I'm so into them.

Nothing flatters a pair of wide-legs more than a pair of platforms.

I thought to spice up things a bit today by taking my pictures in black and white, I'm pretty pleased with the result.

Anyways, my day started super early, but it didn't matter because I have a two week break starting tomorrow, lots and lots of time to sleep. So after my morning lecture, I took advantage of the fair weather and went roaming Montmartre with a couple of friends. The view of the city from this place is simply beautiful.

Meet Claudia and Ingrid:

We had a good time in between roaming the vintage stores, grabbing lunch and discussing politics...yep you heard right, politics (haha). I hope your day was as good.
