Three days, fifty designers...all I can say is AMAZING! Though I missed some shows, I saw enough to boldly say Arise fashion week was a successful platform for these designers to express their individual creativity. Both high end designers and up and coming ones came and set the runway on fire with their “Autumn Winter” collections. Although these seasons don’t apply here in Africa, it was interesting to see how many designers tried to strike a balance between the global season and our own ever warm climate. Also interesting to see was some trends running through various collections, with so much emphasis on prints, block colours, embellishment, and texture play- think velvet, lace, aso oke etc.
